Reconstruction of the operating room for cardiology
Scope of work: project documentation
construction implementation
PD and construction implementation: 03 – 07/2025
The Cardiology Department in the TBRH is a part of the Cardiovascular Center of the TBRH and provides outpatient and inpatient care for almost the entire spectrum of cardiovascular diseases.
Our company prepared the project documentation for the complete reconstruction of the operating room and facilities for interventional cardiology in the building 25 in the Tomáš Baťa Regional Hospital in Zlín and subsequently implemented this reconstruction.
The reconstruction of part of the Cardiology Department included the installation of an operating room and complete construction modifications to the facilities, i.e. control room, patient preparation room, dressing rooms, material storage, day room and technical room for the angiolink. All rooms were also equipped with furniture.
The EP MEDICAL operating room installation system consists of the metal cladding, metal doors (automatically sliding, rotating), metal cassette suspended ceilings, into which the final elements of air conditioning with the third stage of filtration and lighting were integrated. The metal wall system and doors were provided with protection against X-ray radiation. The new floors are made of electrostatic PVC.
The cleanroom installation design allows easy placement of electrical, air conditioning and media distributions. The individual components of the installation are washable and resistant to disinfectants.
The new angiographic device with a C-arm for interventional cardiology was installed in the operating room. This device is a key tool in the field of cardiology and vascular medicine, which allows a visualization of blood vessels and at the same time performing the necessary procedures.
The work also included the treatment of cleanrooms with environmental technology (HVAC, cooling, heating, sanitary installation, electrical installation, measurement and control system, FADS, medical gases). The qualification measurement of cleanrooms was performed. The new machine room was built in the existing space of the basement. The new spaces were built for the low voltage substation and IT and security systems.
The reconstruction and structural modifications of the Cardiology Department, including the installation of the angiography line, took place while the department was still in operation and within a very tight deadline. The preparation of the project documentation and the construction works took only 16 weeks, so that the maximum capacity of the entire Cardiology Department of the TBRH could be restored as soon as possible.
